Jacob Morley, 28, was still at large Tuesday after escaping the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, Tennessee. BBC News reports he was sentenced to life for the 2022 killing of his co-worker, Cody Birchfield.

The Tennessee Department of Correction says staff realized Morley was unaccounted for at about 11:30pm on Sunday. The department announced the escape on Monday. CBS News describes the prison as medium security and says the manhunt now covers multiple states.

Investigators say he slipped through a fence and fled in a stolen truck. NBC News describes it as a work truck and says he allegedly stole it. Security footage shows him in his prison uniform during the escape, according to The Guardian and Fox News. NBC reports that authorities released surveillance images. Fox and NBC give his name as Jacob Allen Morley.

CBS reports that authorities are asking residents to check home security cameras for any sign of him.
