Trump attacks Bill Maher online weeks after White House dinner with him
President Trump posted a roughly 1,300-word Truth Social attack on Bill Maher on Sunday, weeks after the two met for dinner at the White House, according to Fox News.
President Trump published a long Truth Social post on Sunday attacking comedian Bill Maher. Fox News reports the two had dined together at the White House earlier this month. Fox says the post set off confusion online.
The Guardian counted about 1,300 words. Trump opened by calling Maher a "COMPLETE AND TOTAL LOSER," according to The Hill and The Guardian. He also called him a "coward who is afraid to tell the truth," The Hill reports.
Trump said Maher's HBO show, "Real Time," was "not 'HOT' anymore," per The Hill. The Guardian quotes him calling it a low-rated show on a low-rated network that was once "a Network of Quality and Excitement."
The Guardian links the post to Maher's recent interview with former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt. The Hill's excerpt and Fox's report do not say what prompted it.
