Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber and their daughter Kaia Gerber have posted tributes on Instagram to Presley Gerber, who died last month at age 27. CBS News and NBC News report it is the family's first public comment since his death.

The Guardian reports Crawford and Gerber said they are "beyond heartbroken." NBC News quotes his parents as writing that they are proud of how he showed up in the world, "with kindness and vulnerability." Fox News reports Crawford called her son a "sweet, beautiful soul."

Presley was the couple's eldest child. The Guardian, citing Los Angeles county medical examiner records, reports he died on 20 September at a rehab facility. Fox News also reports the death happened at a rehabilitation facility.

Reports differ on the cause. BBC News says the death is being investigated as a suspected overdose. The Guardian says the cause has not been disclosed.
