Selma Blair arrested at JFK after alleged assault on Delta flight attendants
Selma Blair was arrested at JFK on Sunday after authorities said she was physically abusive and injured two flight attendants on a Delta flight from Los Angeles; her publicist cites a medical emergency.
Actor Selma Blair was taken into custody in New York on Sunday after a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles. PBS NewsHour reports authorities say she was physically abusive and injured two flight attendants.
The Guardian says Port Authority of New York and New Jersey officials responded to a call about a physically abusive passenger on Delta flight 938, which was parked at the gate at John F. Kennedy International Airport. A Port Authority spokesperson told NBC News she was taken into custody.
The Guardian reports that several outlets said Blair allegedly punched one flight attendant, bit another and tried to open the plane door. The Hill also reports she allegedly tried to open the door. The Hill says Delta asked for medical staff to meet the flight at the gate to treat the injured.
NBC News reports Blair was taken to a hospital for evaluation after the plane landed.
Blair's publicist told the BBC she "experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct." ABC News reports her representative also described a medical emergency aboard the flight.
Fox News gives her age as 54.
