A jury of eight men and four women has been selected for Russell Brand's trial on rape and sexual assault charges in London, The Guardian reports. The prosecution is expected to open its case on Wednesday.

Brand, 51, attended court for the second day on Tuesday, according to The Guardian. The trial began Monday, when CBS News and PBS NewsHour both reported that he appeared in court.

The Guardian reports that the comedian faces seven counts involving six women: three of rape, three of sexual assault and one of indecent assault. The allegations cover a ten-year period, from 1999 to 2009.

Brand has pleaded not guilty to all charges, The New York Times reports. The Guardian says he denies them.
