Trump says he plans to keep Hegseth as Massie moves to impeach him
Trump says he has "every intention" of keeping Pete Hegseth at the Pentagon, while Rep. Thomas Massie says he will push for a House vote to impeach him.
President Trump said he has "every intention" of keeping Pete Hegseth as defense secretary, ABC News reports. The comment came as Rep. Thomas Massie, a Kentucky Republican, prepared to introduce a resolution to impeach Hegseth.
Massie told CNN on Thursday morning that he plans to call for a vote on impeaching Hegseth, according to The Hill. He described his effort as "a much gentler version" of what could happen once Democrats take control of Congress.
The Hill notes that Massie has clashed with his own party over the past year.
