Colts receiver Josh Downs reportedly asks for trade after Nelson, Buckner deals
After trading Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner, the Colts now face a reported trade request from receiver Josh Downs, and Jonathan Taylor says his future isn't in his hands.
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs has requested a trade, Fox News reported. The report came after the team traded guard Quenton Nelson and defensive lineman DeForest Buckner this week. Fox News did not name a source for the Downs request in the material provided, and the team has not been quoted on it.
Running back Jonathan Taylor addressed trade talk on Thursday's news cycle. Fox News says he told reporters he is proud to wear the horseshoe but can't control what happens to him. He said of a possible trade: "Hopefully that day may not come."
Taylor's wife, Ayanna Taylor, posted a TikTok video asking whether he might be next, according to Fox News. Fox quotes her as asking, "Do I need to start packing".
The Nelson trade was reported Tuesday. A person with knowledge of the deal told the Associated Press that Indianapolis would get a third-round pick and a fifth-round pick from Seattle. The person asked not to be named because neither team had announced it. The Guardian, which carried the AP report, says Nelson is 30 and an eight-time Pro Bowl selection. It also says the Colts fired general manager Ballard last week during a losing streak.
The reports provided do not give terms for the Buckner trade or say where he went.
